Bitter Eggplants

Bitter eggplant is a type of wild eggplant that grows abundantly in forests and fields. The fruit is long, larger than the eggplant, has thorns, and is green with white spots, particularly known for its distinctive bitter taste.

Bitter eggplant is prepared into various dishes in the meals of the Ê-đê people, such as cooking it with fresh fish, dried fish, or dried shrimp. Additionally, it can be eaten raw by pounding it and adding seasonings: salt, chili, monosodium glutamate, leaves of the kinh giới plant, and leaves and bulbs of the garlic plant.
